What if you never saw your lover? How would that change your relationship? How would that transform the way you feel about them? How would you read a letter? What would be important to you? What would you do if you were confronted with the reality of never being able to see again?
Within the walls of a heritage listed house, in the heart of Parramatta are the living and breathing contemporary stories of the blind, based on interviews conducted at Vision Australia by Artistic director Michal Imielski. Inspired by the practical, everyday implications of living without sight, a team of artists developed an original performance experience on site. Over a four-week rehearsal time they explored the limitations and the freedoms of living witout sigh and asked the question: “what would the world be like if we were blind?”
In a world driven by visual cultures and ever developing technology, SHH invites you to be a fly on the wall to ponder blind reality – life and living, love and lovemaking – in this unique and intimate event.
